This video outlines the process of creating a multi-stage lifetime management policy. This is very powerful, as it allows you to define the complete lifecycle for specific SharePoint content in one policy.
In this example I create a policy that:
- Manages documents of type 'Project'
- Finalizes those documents if they are not modified after 1 month
- Archives those documents 1 year after they were created
Note that the multiple stages are sequential. In this example, documents that are not of type 'Project' will never get finalized or archived. As the condition in the first stage is never met, the second & third stages will never become active.
